NEWS SERVER INFO

Why don't you offer Usenet news service?

Bandwidth to carry the more than 60,000 newsgroups (including huge binary files of music, photographs, and programs) would entirely consume Trans-Video.Net's Internet connection and lock it out to regular customers!

We also don't provide free access to external news services because of the cost to provide news "streams." The services require that 20% of Trans-Video.Net's customer base have access to news at one time, a cost that would have to be shared by raising rates to everyone for a service that very few now use with the advent of web-based bulletin boards and chat sites.

We recommend Onlynews.com for fast and unrestricted news access ($12.95 per month) or the free web-based news service, Deja.com.
